The Maggie Society Canine Rescue Rehabilitation & Education

Our People

Meet Laurie and Jesse! Laurie founded The Maggie Society several years ago, after years of experience with dog rescue. She and her husband Jesse work tirelessly day in and day out answering phone calls and emails regarding neglected dogs in Wilson and surrounding counties.

Meet Baraba! She is an expert at finding fosters and with our little dogs. She is instrumental when it comes to writing Maggie Dog bios and she is always available to support our many foster families.
Meet Foster Mama Leslie! She is an expert at raising puppies! She has several adult foster dogs, as well as chickens, goats, and a couple of human kids too! As busy as she is, we are lucky to have her helping out.
The Hemmrich's are some of The Maggie Society's best foster parents. They have been assisting us for years and are always dependable and ready with a helping hand. They love to foster, but are also very helpful with transportation.
Meet Angie! She is our Foster Mama Extrodinaire! She has fostered countless dogs and puppies and is also a longtime Maggie foster and volunteer.
Meet Amanda! She is our #1 go to girl for transportation up to Pennsylvania for our WAGS Rescue Adoption Events. She is also a longtime Maggie volunteer and dedicated foster mom.
Meet Tonia! She and her family are long time Maggie fosters and have provided a loving home to countless puppies and dogs.
Meet Foster Mama Leslie. She and her pack are experts at giving our dogs with socialization needs the friendship skills they need! Leslie is a hardworker and we are thrilled for her to join The Maggie Society team!
Faith is Tonia's daughter and has been raised in a loving home dedicated to rescue and rehabiliation of Eastern NC's abandoned dogs. She is full of energy and compassion and she has loved and nurtured many dogs along their way to find their forever home.
